Opening on the 25th September 2008 and jointly owned by Hammersons and Land Securities it has over 120 shops including Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser, French Connection and Hugo Boss. Designed over 3 streets and multiple levels, it embraces the principle of city centre redevelopment rather that totally enclosed shopping mall with the only covered area being the main Circus hub.
Our Contribution
Working directly with the joint owners, 10 Squared designed, manufactured, installed and maintain 8 interactive wayfinding information points. Designed to complement the existing static signage used throughout the development the information points are unbelievably rugged being manufacture from 6mm thick Stainless Steel with vitreous enamel colour coding and graphics. Each wayfinder houses a 22” sunlight readable, glass bonded, interactive touch screen and is designed to survive the elements and be available for use 24 / 7 / 365. A stunning piece of street furniture in its own right each wayfinder had to be designed as an individual product due to the camber and angle of the pavement at each of the installation positions.
On the back of the success of this installation, Bristol City Council purchased an additional 2 units for use in the neighbouring Broadmead Shopping Centre.
